Viettel launched Cloud ecosystem to contribute to building Vietnam's digital infrastructure

Hanoi, November 14th, 2022 - The Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) officially launched the Viettel Cloud ecosystem, asserting itself as the largest cloud service provider in Vietnam and ensuring the entire process of the components of a cloud ecosystem. This event is significant in the important digital transformation strategy of Vietnam.

The Viettel Cloud ecosystem includes data centers, technology platforms, cloud-based software services, to security technologies, management and operation services.

Viettel Cloud owns the largest data center infrastructure in Vietnam with 13 data centers, with a scale of over 9,000 racks on 60,000 square meters of floor space. By 2025, Viettel Cloud will be invested an additional 10,000 billion VND to expand to 17,000 racks. According to the roadmap, by 2030, Viettel will increase the investment to 40,000 billion VND with a scale of 34,000 rack. The entire data center infrastructure complies with and meets international standards ANSI/TIA-942-B:2017 Rated-3 Constructed Facilities - a standard used to evaluate all aspects of the physical data center including location, architecture, security, fire safety, electrical, mechanical and telecommunications.

Viettel Cloud has super-broadband connectivity with the largest optical fiber trunk in Indochina, 5 international submarine cable routes with the largest capacity in Vietnam and over 500,000 km of optical fiber covering 63 provinces/ cities.

Viettel Cloud has international standard security and reliability technology with ISO certifications, e-commerce security standards and is the only unit in Vietnam to achieve the AICPA SOC1,2,3 certification from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In particular, Viettel is a leading enterprise with experience in deploying products that meet the level 4 information security.

Viettel Cloud has a team of engineers and cloud experts in Vietnam with a scale of over 500 people along with nearly 1,000 IT personnel, network management and information security. The team has experience in deploying and operating telecommunications and IT systems at the global level, in 10 countries around the world with the most stringent international operating procedures. Viettel Cloud commits to a service availability of at least 99.99%.

Viettel Cloud adopts modern technologies, including open source codes such as OpenStack, Kubernetes, Ceph, Prometheus, and Grafana with stable and latest deployment versions. It supports the community and technology organizations to use business operations flexibly. The Viettel Cloud engineering team also directly builds, masters, and contributes to these open source codes.

The Viettel Cloud product ecosystem is diverse and large, with a total of over 70 service products ranging from services at the physical infrastructure level such as colocation, to service platforms such as AI platforms and IoT platforms.

This product system consists of 5 groups: Cloud Infrastructure, Cloud Platform, Cloud Software, Managed Services - Consulting, Deployment & Operation, and Colocation - Data Center.

In the direction of developing the digital economy, Vietnam aims to have 100% of government agencies using cloud computing by 2025, and 70% of businesses using cloud computing services provided by Vietnamese enterprises. With Viettel's cloud ecosystem, it not only opens up development opportunities for the infrastructure of digital platforms, but also ensures national digital sovereignty by Vietnamese enterprises
