Within 48 hours, Viettel Business Solutions Corporation (Member of the Viettel Group) has completed its duty in designing an online health declaration system assigned by the Government and the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 disease prevention.

Viettel assisting the Ministry of Health in building an online health declaration system On March 4, 2020, the Government and the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 disease prevention directed Viettel to coordinate with the Ministry of Health and related units in building an online health declaration system.

The maximum completion time was within 48 hours, ensuring the official operation of the system start from 6 a.m on March 7 nationwide for all passengers, including Vietnamese and foreigners.

Receiving the task, Viettel quickly developed and completed the software. Accordingly, from 12 a.m of March 7, the system was put into operation at Tan Son Nhat airport (Ho Chi Minh City) to welcome the first group of passengers.

The software system offers two online declaration forms for foreigners entering Vietnam and the national health declaration to apply at all border gates, airports, etc. This product also provides a managing system and reports to the administrative authority, combining with instant statistical updates, offering recommendations for disease prevention.

Accordingly, people entering into Vietnam can declare by scanning QR code on their smartphone to receive adequate information for declaration. Upon completing the declaration, the data from the declaration form shall be updated by the system to the disease prevention centers and authorities of Vietnam for management.

From 3 a.m of March 7, Viettel Business Solutions Corporation assigned personnel to support the units via Hotline system and director mobilize staff to Tan San Nhat airport to assist the passengers as well as the medical quarantine officers. After just 1 day of operation, nearly 10,000 people had declared data and issued a medical confirmation.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Ho, the General Director of Viettel Business Solutions Corporation, said: “We’re still focusing on creating further information technology solutions to accompany the Ministry of Health in the process of Covid-19 prevention in the most effective way”.

Previously, Vietnam officially requested entering passengers from the following 4 countries for compulsory health declaration: China (from 12 a.m of January 25), South Korea (3 p.m of February 23), Iran, Italy (12 a.m of February 29).

And from 12 a.m of March 7, the Ministry of Health suggested the People’s Committee of provinces and cities having border gates to continue the application of health declaration form to all travelers from or having passed by countries of the European Union and Cambodia, with both forms including regular health declaration form and digital health declaration form.
